Hollywood Catholic recently announced the historic theatrical comeback of Mel Gibson’s visionary hit, “The Passion of the Christ.”

This remastered version starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus Christ will hit the big screen from September 10-17, 2026, in 4K and with premium Dolby Atmos sound.

The rerelease of “The Passion of the Christ” precedes the May 6, 2027, release of the film’s highly anticipated and long-awaited two-part film, “The Resurrection of the Christ.”

This special rerelease will include an exclusive sneak peek into “The Resurrection,” which will star Finnish actor Jaakko Ohtonen, who will portray Jesus (replacing Jim Caviezel), Polish actress Kasia Smutniak, who will portray the Virgin Mary (replacing Maia Morgenstern), and Cuban actress Mariela Garriga, who will portray Mary Magdalene (replacing Monica Bellucci).
