The Amazing Backstory of the Sacred Heart Movie
What makes this movie even more amazing is the story behind it.
Directors and producers Steven and Sabrina Gunnell of KREA Film-Makers visited the Sacred Heart shrine in Paray-le-Monial — the same place that was their first trip together as a couple nearly 20 years ago! And this is where their inspiration for the movie came from.
Steven, a former member of the 1990s French boy band Alliage, experienced a powerful conversion to Catholicism.
Now he and his wife are teaming up to create films that point people toward Christ. Their passion is contagious:
“The world is dying from not knowing it is loved by God,” they said. “This film is simply an answer and an invitation.”
And audiences are responding! Since its release in Europe in October 2025, Sacred Heart has drawn nearly a million viewers and shocked the French box office. People are hungry for something real — and this movie is delivering.
This 2026 Sacred Heart Movie Releases at the Perfect Time for the United States of America
The U.S. release couldn’t come at a better moment. Not only is June dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but June 2026 also marks America’s 250th anniversary. In addition, the U.S. Catholic bishops will consecrate the entire country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the month of the film’s release. How beautifully providential!
After the film, there’s a special bonus segment featuring U.S. Catholic leaders. Some of these include Archbishop Paul Coakley (president of the USCCB), Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly of the Knights of Columbus, and others sharing how the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus can bring real healing and renewal.
