Do you pray to your guardian angel regularly?

According to Catholic theologian and exorcist Father Chad Ripperger, the answer is yes.

October 2 is the feast of the Guardian Angels, so it’s the perfect time to start!

In an amazing testimony he gave to renowned podcaster Shawn Ryan, Father Ripperger describes a situation where he sent his guardian angel to help a possessed woman in need.

He was at the airport, about to board his flight, so he could not help immediately. So, he sent his guardian angel to help.

The possessed woman said demons pinned her down so severely that she could not move, a circumstance confirmed by the lay assistants present with her.

Before boarding, Father Ripperger silently called on his guardian angel:

“I just mentally said to the guardian angel of my priesthood, ‘Go and help her.’ And then I just got onto the plane.”

After his landing, Father Ripperger then recited brief binding prayers, and the demonic affliction ceased immediately.

Moments later, the woman called back and asked:

“‘And by the way, did you send the guardian angel of your priesthood to me?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, how did you know?’ She said, ‘He appeared to me and held my hand during this whole episode.’”

Here is Father Chad Ripperger’s story about his guardian angel below:

“…but the—but they—they actually, they can hear our thoughts in that actual process.

So, to give an example: I had a case where the woman was possessed. I was in an airport, was just about—just about to get onto the plane. I was in line to—at the gate, and the—the woman I was working with calls me. She, who was possessed, and she calls me and she says, ‘Hey, I’m pinned and I can’t move.’ And so, which they had done to her before.

And then she hands the phone to the assistants, because anytime I do a session, there’s always lay assistants that are present. And they said, yeah, they took the phone and they said, ‘Yeah, we can’t budge her. We can’t move her.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, I’m standing—I’m literally handing the stewardess, or whoever the gate woman, my boarding pass.’ So I just said, ‘Well, I can’t do it now. My flight’s only about an hour. I’ll call you in about an hour.’

And so, then I hung up.

And then I just mentally said to the guardian angel of my priesthood, ‘Go and take—go and help her.’

And then I just got onto the plane. An hour flight later, I get off the plane, and then I call her back and I said, ‘Are you still pinned?’ She says, ‘Yes, I’m still pinned.’

So then I just said a couple of binding prayers. Boom, the demon let loose of her right away, and then she just hangs up on me. And she says, ‘I gotta go.’ She hangs up.

About five minutes later she calls back and she says, ‘Well, the reason I hung up is because I hadn’t been to the bathroom in five hours.’

I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s fair enough.’

And then she said, ‘And by the way, did you send the guardian angel of your priesthood to me?’

And I said, ‘Yeah, how did you know?’

She said, ‘He appeared to me and held my hand during this whole episode.’

So the fact that I was able to mentally communicate that with my guardian angel is an indicator that they can hear our thoughts.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that God gives every human life a guardian angel from the moment of conception:

From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. ‘Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.’ Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God. (CCC 336).

So let’s remember to call on our guardian angels every day. They are here to protect us!

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
