This is incredible! 🤯

Father Scott-Vincent Borba of the Diocese of Fresno, California, recently appeared on Matt Fradd’s Pints with Aquinas podcast to describe an amazing supernatural encounter he experienced before he became a priest.

Father Scott-Vincent Borba was a multi-millionaire who co-founded e.lf. Cosmetics before giving up his wealth and career to become a Catholic priest. He was ordained in May 2026.

In the more than two-hour-long interview, Father Borba reveals an incredible supernatural encounter he had with Saint Michael the Archangel, which ultimately led to his reversion to the Catholic Church.

He first explained that God gave him the mystical gift at the age of five.

Fast-forward many years later, Father Borba said Saint Michael first appeared to him outside his office window in California when he still worked at e.l.f. Cosmetics:

“[Saint Michael] was about two stories tall, the most beautiful creature one could ever behold. At the time, I thought I was exhausted or hallucinating from working and partying too hard. I even asked him, ‘Who are you?’ He looked at me, nodded, and then turned his gaze straight back up to heaven.’

About two weeks later, Borba hosted a party at his beautiful, recently renovated home in the Hollywood Hills. The now-Catholic priest said he was “at the height” of his success, but he was not happy or fulfilled, and did not feel loved. He then prayed what he described as “a sincere prayer.”

“I had given my heart away to the world instead of to my Creator. I intuitively knew it. In the silence of my heart, I looked up to the ceiling and prayed to God the Father: ‘God, if you created me just to be successful, to make money, to be a hedonist, and to repeat this cycle, then why did you create me? Why did you create the human race? Because a lot of us do this. I’m not happy, and I don’t know how to be happy. But I do know that I want to become the man you created me to be, and I can’t do it without your help.’”

Father Borba then explained that “at that moment,” “something extraordinary happened.” He saw Saint Michael the Archangel for a second time!

“In a mystical way, the entire roof and ceiling of my house seemed to disappear. It evaporated, and I saw eternity—eternity meeting eternity. Then, entering my peripheral vision, came St. Michael the Archangel.”

Father Borba said Saint Michael the Archangel stopped time and “immediately granted me the grace of seeing my soul.”

Here is the full description of what Father Scott-Vincent Borba said was an “illumination of conscience”:

“He showed me where I stood in Hell. Just as there are seven castles in Heaven, there are seven layers in hell. I saw that I already had a place reserved there. I saw the demons surrounding me, eager for my arrival. I saw how everyone around me was tormented for eternity by the very perverse pleasures and deficiencies they had loved in life.

It was horrific. I was physically there. I should have died from the horror of what I witnessed—animal heads on human bodies and worse. The saddest part is that Hollywood takes the real reality of the demonic world and projects it as mere fantasy. But it’s not. Much of it comes directly from demonic inspiration. I saw it for the terrifying truth it was.

The only thing that kept me stable was the power of Saint Joseph’s hand holding me conscious, because I wanted to expire—I literally wanted to die from the overwhelming horror.

Then Saint Michael showed me how my decisions and sins affected the reality of the world I lived in. I saw how I had been walking on earth like a zombie because my sins were so great that they caused a darkening of my intellect, as Saint Thomas Aquinas describes. My perception of reality was clouded. I had opened portals in my life that brought havoc, all willingly, out of sheer stupidity in my hedonistic lifestyle. I was walking with people already on the road to perdition.

It was too much to bear. I felt I needed to get out, to jump—anything to escape. But Saint Michael, in another grace from God, understood and slowly brought me out of the vision.

He then spread his wings—his wingspan the size of a football field. With the slightest movement of the tips of his wings, he exercised the entire house. A tornado of demons that had entered through the portals I had opened were swept out. Light and peace returned.

When the ceiling reappeared and time resumed—feeling as though not even a second had passed—I was horrified and out of breath, as if I had been beaten. There was no doubt in my mind that this was real. I wasn’t drunk. There were no hallucinogens. It was more real than I was.

Saint Michael nodded at me. This was no gentle guardian angel offering an embrace. This was the one who cast down Lucifer, the Prince of the Church and guardian of this world—strictly business. As he departed, I immediately stood up and told everyone, ‘Get out of my house. It’s done. We’re done.’

I locked up the house, drove down to the bottom of the Hollywood Hills, and checked into a hotel at Wilshire and La Brea. As I walked down the hallway to my room, the full weight of God’s grace hit me—an utter remorse filled every fiber of my being. I fell to my knees, sobbing uncontrollably. I rarely cry, but in that moment I wept, saying, ‘This is not the man my mom and dad raised. This is not the man God created me to be.’
