Rapper Nicki Minaj recently reposted Pope Leo’s call for “the release of hostages in Nigeria and Cameroon.”

Pope Leo stated in a November 23 video that he “was deeply saddened” to learn of the kidnapping of priests, faithful, and students in Nigeria and Cameroon.

The Holy Father said he feels “great pain” for the “many young men and women who have been abducted,” and made a “heartfelt plea for the immediate release of the hostages.”

In response to Pope Leo’s plea, recording artist and rapper Nicki Minaj reposted the video. She also wrote a prayer alongside the repost.

“Dear God, release your immediate intervention in this matter,” Minaj wrote in her post. “Rescue the hostages and may the peace that surpasses all understanding fall upon their families right now. Lord, we know your power. With faith & thanksgiving in advance, we claim the victory. In the mighty name of JESUS.”

Minaj also recently spoke before the United Nations in defense of Nigerian persecuted Christians.

“I want to make it very clear, once again, that this isn’t about taking sides,” she said. “This is about standing up in the face of injustice. It’s about what I’ve always stood for”

Lord, please have mercy on all persecuted Christians and give them strength in their suffering! Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us! 🙏
