History of Gwen Stefani’s Catholic Faith
Stefani was raised in a Catholic household in Anaheim, Calif. Stefani’s spiritual roots have quietly shaped her life, surfacing in subtle yet meaningful ways amid her high-profile career.
Stefani’s attended Catholic school, where hymns and prayers wove into her early creativity.
Publicly, her faith shines through in many of her public actions. Her 2004 wedding to Gavin Rossdale in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London—a stunning Gothic church—reflected her reverence for sacred spaces. She later married Rossdale in a Catholic ceremony in Los Angeles.
She also ensured that before marrying Blake Shelton, she received an annulment from the Catholic Church for her previous marriage to Rossdale. However, it is not clear if her 2021 marriage to Blake Shelton was officiated or blessed by a Catholic priest.
Beyond the spotlight, Stefani lives her faith through family. She’s spoken of raising her three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—with prayer and values rooted in her upbringing.
Gwen Stefani’s Catholicism isn’t a relic of her past—it’s a quiet, enduring compass guiding her public life.
