Catholic Disney actor David Henrie published a photo of himself working on a new project with actor and producer Mel Gibson, who made the blockbuster hit and Christian classic, “The Passion of the Christ.”

Henrie is most-known for his work portraying Justin Russo on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Over the last several years, he became more publicly vocal about his Catholic faith.

In a post on LinkedIn, Henrie announced a movie he and Gibson are working on. While he did not conceal many details, Henrie said he is excited for his fans “to finally see this labor of love.” He assured followers that the project is a family film.

“Final mix let’s go 🔥!” Henrie wrote on LinkedIn. “Can’t wait for y’all to finally see this labor of love! So grateful to our producing team who believed in this film from day one, stuck with it despite being in one of the toughest film climates the industry has even been in and believed in my vision.

“Necessity is the mother of invention, and our producing team figured out a way to get this across the line, bravo!” he continues. “If you have a family that misses the time when you could go to the movies and enjoy worry-free entertainment, with characters you root for and values that are universal, unitive and innate then this film with be for you. It was an honor to direct and now we’re finally going to bring it to the world. Announcements coming soon!”

Henrie’s announcement generated positive feedback from LinkedIn connections. Many users congratulated hi for the accomplishment and applauded the news.
